GPT-Live-1 is now available on Retell. It is a full-duplex voice model that talks to the caller directly, so agents answer at the pace of a real conversation, while a backend text LLM keeps running your prompt, tools and knowledge base.
- Natural turn-taking: GPT-Live-1 handles speech and interruptions itself, so callers can cut in, change direction or ask follow-ups and the agent keeps up.
- No awkward pauses: when the agent needs to act or look something up, the voice model keeps the conversation going while the backend works, then speaks the result in its own words.
- Keeps your tools and knowledge base: bookings, lookups and other mid-call actions still run on the text LLM you choose.
- Two prompts: a voice prompt sets how the agent talks and when it hands off; your existing prompt drives the backend.
- Where it works: single-prompt voice agents on paid accounts. Not available for conversation flows, multi-prompt, transfer or chat agents.
